This day-long program offers outdoor exploration at the Bissett Wetlands and classroom water quality testing at our indoor learning lab. Students will learn the interconnected aspects of our environment and be able to put them into a social and scientific context.

Shared values and beliefs helped to sustain communities in a tough and demanding physical environment. Using an interactive game book, students will assume one of several possible identities of a newly arrived settler in 1910 Alberta. As they tour the Park they collect points that correspond to their health, wealth and survival; discovering how luck, opportunity, hard work and ethnicity combined to create the immigrant's experience.
Tears! Toil! Triumph! (Grade 7: Social Studies)
The story of the sacrifices and contributions of the thousands of Chinese workers who left their homes and families in China in the early 1880s to help construct the Canadian Pacific Railway through the Fraser and Thompson River Canyons in British Columbia, is a story filled with tears, toil and triumph.
